Beit El Diafi

Beit El Diafi is a Lebanese non-profit organization that helps poor people. Its main location is at Jounieh. Beit Al Diafi help poor families living at the mountains via clothes, food…; they assist the elder and pay school tuitions for kids in need.

It was found year 1988 by Father Antoine Atallah due to the need of shelter during immigration period. Immigrants were starving, and had no place to go for shelter, and they did not have enough time to take their money from their homes especially that soldiers took over their houses.

At that time, Father Atallah offered shelter to 85 immigrants at Deir Saydet Tamish where they stayed over for 8 months there, he offered shelter, food, and clothes for the elder and children.

Father Atallah felt the need of initiating an organization to shelter people in need. With God’s help and lots of prayers, Father Atallah met Mr Claude Asswad who had the intention to build a place in Jounieh in memory of his daughter a martyr of war Joumana Claude Asswad.

Mr. Claude offered then a place of 400m2, on which was built Beit El Diafi.

Beit Al Diafi today has 15 volunteers that assist people seeking shelter at this organization , and with God’s will and donations this organization is assisting for 22 years now , however not only the immigrants but the poor due to bad economic situations.
